Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream
2 l, A  T$ r$ |- E- zI was walking along the beach with my Lord.
' D' }0 u4 i- l: n: z& `* jAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.
$ m5 `7 y) R3 tFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,2 S: f- e7 R; M) Q( R5 I3 H" [4 N
one belonging to me3 @- N1 [- g1 ~0 [+ A( m! t
and the other to my Lord.- m# F# `' F' I9 B! w" K
When the last scene of my life shot before me
; x9 K0 {3 ~( vI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
5 h" `4 V3 w6 O/ eThere was only on set of footprints.! |4 j: X, J, L! b; l3 m
I realized that this was at the lowest
; x. S( V: ~; O+ Pand saddest times in my life.* d# ~1 ~0 Y7 n5 B1 L; D2 a8 q
This always bothered me , \/ B* Q: |. i9 u- Q
and I questioned the Lord
5 b' c! }* ^" t5 z* V, r, h( Oabout my dilemma.$ {! c! m9 n$ c
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
9 G# X/ w# M  }% u& v0 R5 xYou would walk and talk with me all the way.
. c+ i; H7 Z/ c1 D+ T* |5 h) V! N9 aBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
6 p+ a" u+ g; @3 etimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
6 {  T4 q6 Y0 X4 n) e6 Z  `8 VI don't understand why, when I needed You most, 9 o5 M3 |; q) x$ ]5 @% v* f
you leave me."
