JOB TITLE: Japanese Cook - one vacancy
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidate must finish one Cook Trade Training from vocational schoolor trade school; must hold cook trade certificate and Food Safety Level 1. Certificatein Professional Culinary Arts will be helpful.
This is not an entry level position. However, on-job-training is provided.Minimum 6 months of experience as a cook in Japanese restaurant environment isrequired. Canadian experience is preferred.
Candidates must speak and read Mandarin and English at moderate level.
Other Requirements:
Commitment to quality service.
Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment.
Physically demanding. Work in fast pace, 90% of time standing. Attention todetail.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Make various kinds of sushi, such as Californiaroll, salmon roll, etc.
Cook other Japanesedishes such as sashimi, teriyaki, tempura, etc.
Prepare sauce, soupand starch.
Estimate food requirements and determine portion of food
Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
Clean kitchen and maintain a safe working environment.
Order supplies andequipment and Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
TERM OF EMPLOTMENT: Permanent, long-term, full-time
WAGE/BENEFITS: $17/hour, 2 weeks of paid vacation starting the 2nd year
WORKING HOURS: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week,
