& g1 L; q9 F' g2 x' ]. {( h. VOne night I had a dream$ e; v. R. y# \+ R' G
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.! x( P% T$ z8 M1 e1 A& P
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.) w, e+ d! x6 Q
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
7 C: `: \: Q# @3 I' Sone belonging to me
0 Z% G5 G! T& A* r; H2 oand the other to my Lord.
  N8 a8 _+ Z; v" {* S7 E* kWhen the last scene of my life shot before me/ G) ~5 I8 a' @6 |9 @9 y
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
, e+ ^6 b- O; V% Y) rThere was only on set of footprints.
6 p- O9 B8 z9 t5 C1 h- l# D% AI realized that this was at the lowest ( @, u3 r# R6 {
and saddest times in my life.
: M/ I/ R( l- DThis always bothered me
! x8 z# q# h* W# E2 B8 i/ ~2 nand I questioned the Lord
7 P! T7 j! h/ H# E9 U7 v3 W- O+ B7 U) E, Rabout my dilemma.
* @# c. A( B' t: ^# ]$ G* V1 m"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
9 k) p1 a% {. N1 ?& A4 s/ R& _  VYou would walk and talk with me all the way.. R7 r% T: h& q& n7 i) p+ j8 l
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
& u) a8 r2 N  ttimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
: s6 J' x1 e( O1 TI don't understand why, when I needed You most,
* R! y  G4 e! J- iyou leave me."
+ i  K1 c8 h! k$ w' X; c8 gHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,& w; j4 F* C# G( R8 f& l4 J0 f
I love you and will never leave you

It was then that I carried you."
