Footprints in the Sand

4 [' y8 `- c! Y9 `/ oOne night I had a dream
' ]9 l* W$ d5 J# wI was walking along the beach with my Lord.
9 x5 F; A+ U7 R; cAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.$ ?3 w: r# M+ r) P
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
, Z8 N' j" v. tone belonging to me
. p" ~5 R7 w" n8 F; N) kand the other to my Lord.+ h" i* a- |7 Y
When the last scene of my life shot before me
# l  S. }: ^( |8 X9 x' DI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
% U/ t% n. s6 r7 F3 bThere was only on set of footprints.
4 X/ B! D2 _3 r% h3 V, Z* VI realized that this was at the lowest & m% @4 M, U9 }& j- ?( p$ G0 X
and saddest times in my life.
& V% j( X" K9 o! q4 J5 LThis always bothered me
: y7 Q0 D' x5 |$ \# Yand I questioned the Lord6 j3 ]+ z% W$ i9 b  |% L
about my dilemma.* z. B8 L6 t7 F+ J2 S; d
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,; c$ a( p+ ]: `2 g6 p" v3 S
You would walk and talk with me all the way.. Z% R; ^+ i% O5 @6 n
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome & A& P+ R9 A* \+ ?% M
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.4 j) K0 f, m! p' |, ]1 }1 ~
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
' S  b) _* E$ T# ]' xyou leave me."2 R3 j1 }2 @* `. T8 B2 T
He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
