Lord,
0 J2 N0 K1 N0 w; H7 @0 z+ Fhaving transformed& B6 H8 E0 n3 ^/ e2 [; p7 u
sunshine and soil and water and seed,7 [/ i! G+ f7 G- s) C
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
0 Z" s0 v: A" R, S/ p% r, a1 `( [$ Mwe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
% Q% l5 M! s- kso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
7 a8 `! N5 j6 `. N: E6 z [; E2 RWe who came first and are ready to dine
" a7 F& y5 ]* G! d2 othank you that we’re not still waiting in line, 6 G( s: x1 Z" e/ M3 h
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, 2 S% ^& c2 B2 F
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.* j4 O J" F ^* s/ L
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others 1 v* n: h) H* I. n
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.% E2 r# Q% |$ E4 s

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted + `5 \4 S# s- h3 T- E: |4 L& c
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted 9 j; `" m w9 u
We thank you for people so generous and kind5 p& y) k+ L1 d% t! d' H
