Lord, 8 L, j0 A1 p% G4 y
having transformed1 [; t0 N! w }& r
sunshine and soil and water and seed,
* c/ n: C. f: r1 e$ B! O; Z) Zinto food upon which we are soon to feed,
; K; m% S4 c0 w2 x/ q. iwe thank you for life and we want to stay well, * p V0 d) d% G" c6 \
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.9 N d2 X( J7 G: Q8 {
We who came first and are ready to dine* Y- x9 L! v6 S6 w
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
& E' N. g/ q7 o& I; abut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
6 b [, O$ B1 F! I% E0 `) wwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.4 o: R6 y5 x6 j: c
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others 5 X! g# c( j( k6 t
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted . ~, F1 M2 i1 t& ]2 k) x
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
