Lord, $ c( A2 J( a8 B1 O, P
having transformed6 }/ K! y+ u2 t7 T- G6 c2 _
sunshine and soil and water and seed,
9 ]# J, t9 m+ n/ Q1 ointo food upon which we are soon to feed,
% L3 ?4 C6 Y) o8 e4 N( nwe thank you for life and we want to stay well, 5 h6 V% P- h+ v. o# v
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
) g" j" b7 e/ c, JWe who came first and are ready to dine9 {& P! k5 k' l) @ _/ O
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
, P G' U; g' |" O5 O! Abut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
, B4 Q) l# u% |5 B/ v$ l8 D* Hwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
. Y$ [$ D6 _) ~2 _: I( nInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
# o' O/ g, E0 j+ y9 @2 I! othe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted 4 R- z7 B O/ R3 x+ P' H
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
, `- ?' M# x' s5 q1 O) sWe thank you for people so generous and kind" g" ~ Q" j2 \9 U% g# V
and thanks for all blessings in body and mind,
