Lord, 7 x- z2 [9 V! L5 ^6 [! C/ {
having transformed
6 O3 V; x: K* x# o$ K3 ^1 u$ Z3 S+ osunshine and soil and water and seed,( W5 T! K; }$ d! |# R
into food upon which we are soon to feed, 4 H/ H& [7 S# K6 k$ O
we thank you for life and we want to stay well, 2 I% M. }- G! L' \5 ?- Q
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
8 ]. b0 H, Y. i7 IWe who came first and are ready to dine' X7 E1 [& I8 O l# r% D
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line, B8 n! U, `" q- A- M) w5 q
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, " j, d7 r: y) m7 Z- B; e9 Y
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate./ H* l6 v* {( ~( G$ ~# p+ C' A
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
9 }! {1 }* G! c4 l+ l0 othe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
. c! k" m. B+ r! vthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted ) r* C8 H% C. q8 E0 I5 ]' O
