Lord, " k' g; D" _* k" K5 K
having transformed9 p: _2 O3 n4 ~* b/ j
sunshine and soil and water and seed,3 [9 _; X% U: D7 k/ i/ {# p
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
1 x0 B6 R5 U% W$ c7 f; R, X2 {2 Nwe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
" P7 g9 y' V* `" j! W! }so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
% }* T. ~3 V2 h* G# ?) d$ r. ^! fWe who came first and are ready to dine
* N! r$ o9 B, L2 e8 O1 Qthank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
* ~: X3 ^- @! O+ @) S& o# j; rbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, 5 V+ e6 Z2 A' h1 j/ u! [6 Z l: {
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
) X' d# L: r7 bInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
6 G: C$ X# `$ Lthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
