Lord, # z* Q- H) G' q8 Y/ [
having transformed* r/ v3 K5 S/ V. o( _5 h
sunshine and soil and water and seed,9 E6 a% _- p+ u7 i
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
% f) _! _! D7 Cwe thank you for life and we want to stay well, 5 h8 V* M: z1 l' N/ ^% q* I( k
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
Q# }: K0 r0 `( LWe who came first and are ready to dine$ x" F: c% T/ S- V
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
! J1 f9 C$ y8 ybut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
% i$ w$ T8 J! w0 Q, xwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
# \( h P7 i% ~9 w/ yInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
/ Y; i0 Q Q, u3 h! U1 B$ pthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.+ s; b5 B# N9 V" z. u. Y; S/ }: o

the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted ' N% i/ [ A: m, _7 y& I
