Lord, 9 N3 B. X7 m( j; {8 L: |& @ W4 Y( @: S' P6 ?
having transformed$ o4 B- G6 t$ M5 c5 U
sunshine and soil and water and seed,
) M. H5 G2 u, E, rinto food upon which we are soon to feed,
k- i8 }! [9 V7 T! Awe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
! E( f3 E( d% F# bso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
2 D/ |0 j9 z+ L2 r6 Z. p; Q! z! LWe who came first and are ready to dine3 q+ d8 G0 ]& M8 l* N1 i4 j& F
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line, 6 Q: m" W7 C/ H" h
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
( }5 p: q: F$ lwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
, P' a5 X% g6 a7 x O# i- D/ S' QInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
0 ^7 }4 m/ c, a1 h5 Wthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

9 [$ y8 a# H1 ~We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
( Y, _4 Y& O# xthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
