Footprints in the Sand
# L7 A$ l  s5 |$ Q+ t, L* U8 P! k) `7 }: x: Q6 Q/ F% J
One night I had a dream
1 `* |" S9 ?. c  MI was walking along the beach with my Lord.( Q) G2 u! f! ?
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.! p: K8 H8 U$ m
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
  [3 ?- ^0 o5 Q: Y2 Z) Q/ uone belonging to me
2 L7 |; I: u  j5 z9 e: Tand the other to my Lord.
4 x/ l2 ]+ d4 _, ~When the last scene of my life shot before me
7 z7 G- j* Y, G" w: _I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
. w  @' p/ h9 L& q4 V; qThere was only on set of footprints.! c6 ^" U" L9 \  M9 M' r! C
I realized that this was at the lowest   l& x% S8 e7 F) {
and saddest times in my life.
$ D3 U' d, E9 \) @3 q8 d9 dThis always bothered me $ n" Q5 f' }- f
and I questioned the Lord; E# I; S2 l7 D% c
about my dilemma.# r7 h, m' p0 F9 [. C6 {( ^' e
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,: S# p; {7 l$ Z  a) f
You would walk and talk with me all the way.3 J1 J, M* k" f
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
  E$ z0 C# {* x- x3 ctimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.! _% L% u! D3 t  D2 V8 x- [
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, " b+ [8 W7 k; u" A" K; g7 i) A9 C
you leave me."/ V& R' [% N& G0 }* ^' M% V
He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,/ g% ?( a) u) t
I love you and will never leave you3 w9 x" n; y) Y% h+ a3 n# F
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.! O0 ^7 F2 C+ K$ D7 V& d8 z6 H
When you saw only one set of footprints
) r( `# h: r, [; D/ e- C9 M% bIt was then that I carried you."1 d3 f% X) G5 Y. D! A
