Footprints in the Sand

; B9 e# [* X( _( L, DOne night I had a dream, T+ O2 q. L8 D, U. c
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.4 W( p9 E0 ?1 C' Z1 ]' k
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
; t7 r0 m9 x# N' H. i, E) M9 s6 P$ q; }8 VFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,  o. _8 |% W- G' @/ w4 ?7 ?
one belonging to me, V6 W: X, O5 S+ r/ C! n- s5 P
and the other to my Lord.
6 T4 t; E- v# u8 b+ iWhen the last scene of my life shot before me6 Z# s/ H$ F  d* x+ n5 P, w; W
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
. E+ M9 t/ v6 c3 y6 Q$ x8 qThere was only on set of footprints.
+ r) F8 Q1 l* d9 iI realized that this was at the lowest 6 u1 I0 o$ J2 |4 E, H1 A( C) N
and saddest times in my life.
, i4 i7 r* G6 SThis always bothered me " k! W+ B8 z6 i* f+ x) q
and I questioned the Lord
( n" _% x1 Z3 ~. d3 }$ e9 cabout my dilemma.
; }4 V7 ?& I/ u, @% t* t; Q  R"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
, v) B% O, R( F6 Z3 cYou would walk and talk with me all the way.$ H) v" g/ J* M
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
3 t0 u2 W/ p; b+ etimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
+ l  l8 q" S2 bI don't understand why, when I needed You most,
  C. A! D8 p4 K! ?; z& Syou leave me."
) u, a3 `4 q  W: U) cHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
! W2 X: R4 e# w* {% L) P5 c8 E9 b$ wI love you and will never leave you' \7 s% B/ `" O5 w. }0 a- u
never, ever during your times of trial and testings." _( ]7 d8 c: E& [8 V
When you saw only one set of footprints# L" B9 G6 E. P( X' K# {+ R* E$ D) v/ n8 J
It was then that I carried you."
