Footprints in the Sand

4 g: L% @) o7 T- M" kOne night I had a dream
0 {& {6 `( W" K' {2 D+ C: K% q. `I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
( k6 u# i5 D1 ]3 o3 x7 sAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.
  B1 o2 k- ]( xFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,* F! C- e: w% H% l6 q
one belonging to me& B6 k; c; C/ A) D: k1 p6 k
and the other to my Lord.
8 U, u8 i! q1 ~6 eWhen the last scene of my life shot before me0 S5 W+ U* a+ u! p
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
( `( [/ }: z" S. q5 E+ m5 ]  nThere was only on set of footprints.
4 B+ N4 ]; x" _8 @# h+ T( [8 ZI realized that this was at the lowest
' P$ }0 x% G- d* t/ n3 D. rand saddest times in my life.. G, K* l$ l9 D8 q$ B9 S, K; h  m
This always bothered me
0 z+ c0 I9 b) I/ Nand I questioned the Lord
; N8 P. G5 K7 u' d) l; sabout my dilemma.) K) Y! f6 y* z( S3 n3 _% t; ^
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,2 h; w8 b+ A* h
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
/ G; ~: Y: Q+ N: {9 `- z6 m) y0 V' ?But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
% }2 u. T) n3 f0 v; s' J6 ^times of my life there is only one set of footprints.& r& r: R/ W, b5 o3 b# r* s
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
( R& ^8 N+ s; R* q/ a0 U1 syou leave me."6 _8 b8 r; t/ m6 b
