Footprints in the Sand$ n- O0 C" x* c3 f" d6 O  t$ `- s
1 m2 Y- V& o, E, S* H
One night I had a dream/ x; \8 c  B# N) [: |1 Q
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.. l/ e* f& B: c7 m" c# Y
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
7 J" S9 b$ J( I) PFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
7 n# G9 A1 K1 H* V. ~, _one belonging to me. q0 c1 B; c( A+ V
and the other to my Lord.: A; g2 ~$ f3 b3 D& d9 w1 r7 i
When the last scene of my life shot before me
/ ^- ?% k2 V+ k+ J- N* u8 b+ pI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
0 f1 F7 {% n. t4 C7 s  EThere was only on set of footprints.) e# L. A+ i" a" ?
I realized that this was at the lowest
1 ^* `; s" Y0 O2 P* w8 D, Band saddest times in my life.- W  F5 N% ?; F8 D! ]6 u
This always bothered me 6 t3 A9 |: z  X1 S
and I questioned the Lord: {$ v7 z- ^" b; ?7 }
about my dilemma.! U' n# e! }& _4 G' H
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
; [; R! \" K* z  YYou would walk and talk with me all the way.
4 m. {9 C2 x1 k$ S/ uBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome   S$ Z6 Z1 `, e8 J/ ]
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.
7 r1 ~$ i' c; M$ v3 LI don't understand why, when I needed You most,
; r! J- ~' E$ W1 Z( N0 yyou leave me."
- Q. P' l% K2 U6 RHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,4 |& @# n7 N# z1 l8 U% a9 n; p9 h( P1 L
I love you and will never leave you

It was then that I carried you."
