我家刚刚买了房子，想把一层改造一下出租，我想知道改造房子出租对房间有没有具体的要求，是不是要达到什么标准才能出租？谁有经验，能帮帮我吗？谢谢！！

不同地区(victoria or saanich) 标准不完全一样．你可去你的地区查．主要的是：卧室一定要有够大能开的Window, 不然的话不能有门; 屋顶高度不能少于 一定高度(6'10"or 7')；还有炉子的电线要240v, not every old house can add that in first floor and be safe, 一定要请有本子的电工看．很多人家并没有按规定该造，但以后万一出了事，或有人(邻居，房客）告发你了，会有麻烦．

For Victoria 区：
The 2 most important rules for a legal suite in the City of Victoria are:
1. Basement height has to be 7 feet or higher
2. The total square footage must be 1615 sqft or greater, and the suite
can only be 40% of the total floor space to a max of 968 square feet. If
the floor plan is smaller than 1615 sqft, you can add-on to make up the
extra room.
