Footprints in the Sand

, V; @/ P, g/ m& `9 _  dOne night I had a dream1 K) Z. C, }+ r
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.* z9 E9 \+ V. M0 @
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.+ W3 s; r$ |  p
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,: J8 Q7 g* E* _+ o1 F! ]( R- i
one belonging to me6 H/ A/ J6 u7 j- V) c5 {
and the other to my Lord.7 k- X, v  P! |' F; p
When the last scene of my life shot before me
. |! P; s# c3 q* x$ v8 R0 oI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
/ ~) \! F. E. d$ z( t' m% jThere was only on set of footprints.
) u$ j4 p9 l# W3 a; _I realized that this was at the lowest , @5 {, m2 j4 C( r7 O9 h; i: E! i
and saddest times in my life.9 n* Z$ W1 V% D- C4 k
This always bothered me
; R- ~7 E6 q. ]0 qand I questioned the Lord
. [1 S$ e) t" H: F0 ~4 Mabout my dilemma., ~9 u( E% @7 _
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,3 D7 U2 ]% m: C. o! M* O
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
; z' M; A! I( E4 sBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome ) d0 W$ U# D  W1 A8 E7 n& p
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.4 G9 ]5 M, R" t# [  W- c% d( a2 T2 Y
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, 8 L) c+ O5 F* z7 ?9 d, S
you leave me."% X  z! e+ k4 ]% |1 `9 ]# j/ u
He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
5 d4 N" I; l3 b, gI love you and will never leave you$ H1 Y- F/ V" n
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.) u% g, @+ N3 C
When you saw only one set of footprints3 @7 I* `9 t; M
It was then that I carried you."
